Ashro Woman: Francesca T.
Meet Ashro Woman of the Week, Francesca T. from Detroit, MI
What does it look like to walk by faith and not by sight? It looks a lot like Francesca. This brave, beautiful woman has been through trials that could have killed and broken her.
A survivor of domestic abuse, she has lived through the horrifying experience of being sprayed with gasoline and set on fire by her significant other. She suffered 3rd-degree burns over 40% of her body and damage to her hair and scalp. She even had to learn how to walk and talk all over again.
An overcomer through and through, Francesca has also survived breast cancer, learning to live with a trachea in her throat. “God is the reason I’ve lived and survived.” Francesca has chosen to be “an example and testimony of His power.”
Allowing herself to be used for His purposes has given her the calling and strength to become a motivational speaker and author. Her hope is that this will help others to keep going and to overcome whatever their challenges may be.

Powerful a Boss Woman. I myself as one in being a Testimony of God! I’ve had a lot of challenges in life and I’m living to tell about them and hopefully help someone else to over come them. |
What do you do for a living? What do you like most about it? What don’t you like? |
Currently I am a Author, Motivational Speaker, and Mother of girls 20 and 4 years old. Able to live my life and tell about and be a inspiration to my daughters. I dislike nothing about what I do for a living. |
How do you spend your free time? |
Communicating with people and shopping. |
What small thing makes you happy? |
Food |
What is your best dish? Who do you make it for—and where do you typically serve it? |
I call it Special Potatoes. I make it for my family. I serve it at home on the Holidays. |
What has been your greatest struggle…and your greatest (or latest) triumph? |
I am a survivor of domestic violence. I was set on fire by a man I was in a relationship with. He pointed gasoline on me and tired to kill me. I received 3rd degree burns 40% of my body. I had to learn how walk and talk again. I am also a Breast Cancer survivor, had to learn how to live with a Trachea in my throat, and cope with the death of my 4 year father being murder when she was 4 months old. My lastest triumph is survival! |
Who influenced you the most in your life. Why? And in what way? |
My mother. She is a strong woman, care giver, happy, good health, and at the age of 73 she looks amazing. |
Do you volunteer or do charity work? Tell us about it! |
I volunteer and my daughters school as a speaker and helper for special events. |
Are you in a sorority? Or is anyone in your family in a sorority? If so, which one and what does it mean to you? |
No |
What do you love about fashion and style? |
Looking good in my own style and colors. Make me feel good about myself with all my imperfections with my body. I’m able to cover them up. |
Has anyone in particular influenced your style? |
My mother. Always dress to impress everyday. Even if she don’t go out the house. |
What occasions/events do you dress up for? (for example-do you often dress up for church, cultural events, charity events, going out, etc.) And how often do you typically get dressed up? |
Going out and special events. I try to look good everyday. |
How has your style evolved over time? |
More stylish for my age. |
Do you wear hats? How often and what type of hat? Do you wear them to church? If so, be sure to share a pic of you in a hat with us! |

Do you wear wigs? How often and what length or style? If so, be sure to share a pic of you in a wig with us! |
Yes. Short and long. Everyday because my hair is damage from the fire. I have bald spots. I also wear sew in… |
Are you a woman of faith? How does that faith affect your life? Please tell us more. |
Yes. I walk by Faith and not by site. God is the reason of me living and surviving. I found my purpose in life. To be a Testimony of his power. |
Do you attend church? What church do you go to and what do you love most about it? |
No. I use to. Not anymore because of the pandemic. I watch church programs on television. |

By living as an example. |
Are you a First Lady or a Pastor? |
No |
Your best advice? |
Live your best life no matter what you have been through or going through. Time is precious. |
What lessons has motherhood (or being a grandmother) taught you? |
Females are powerful. Motherhood is the best gift that Jesus could have gave us. You learn from your children and they learn from you. |
Are you an Ashro Credit customer? If so, how has our credit helped you? |
Yes. To bring up my credit score. |
Do you have a memory to share of when you first heard about Ashro or when you received your first catalog? |

God healed me from covid-19 this year. I June this year, I had TIA(transient ischemic attack). I asked God deliver me. In 3 days, I was discharged from the hospital. I have been on medications and have no side effect of the attack. Give God the glory. Never give up on Jesus.

Francesca, your story is one of survival and overcoming. You were surely protected by the angels our God sends to protect us. Domestic Violence is such a scourge in our society. It knows no race or socio-economic group. I was a Marriage and Family Therapist for 8 years before retiring almost 6 years ago. Oh how often I heard stories like yours. So often due to the intimate partner not surviving others have to tell their stories. I am happy that you are here to tell your story. Keep striving my sista. God bless.
