Women Empowering Women 2026: Celebrating Black Women’s Wellness
In March 2026, ASHRO had the honor of participating in the inspiring Women Empowering Women 2026 Conference, themed “Preserved in Peace”. This empowering event, hosted by Kimberly Fisher and co-hosted by Pastor Wendy Singleton, brought together over 100 women for a day of holistic wellness, connection, and inspiration.

Inspiring Voices
Leading the conversation, Christine Russell of the Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness set the tone with a powerful message on the difference between protecting and preserving peace. Drawing from her extensive experience of over 15+ years in health and wellness programming, she encouraged attendees to establish boundaries as filters rather than walls and to adopt sustainable practices that support long-term well-being.
Building on this foundation, Dr. Juanita Foster guided attendees through maintaining peace amid life’s challenges, emphasizing intentional daily practices that support emotional and physical well-being. Jocelyn Vaughn followed with three key strategies for preserving peace: creating clarity, defining personal peace rituals, and cultivating a supportive circle. Together, their sessions reinforced that peace must be intentionally built and protected through conscious choices, prioritizing self-awareness even amid life’s chaos and complexity.
Adding a special touch to the event, our very own ASHRO Brand Ambassador, video host of Onward and Upward and Global Journalist, Leslie E. Royal, shared insights on achieving rejuvenation and the power of sisterhood. “It continues to be a pleasure speaking at the annual Women Empowering Women Conference. It is so important for women to support, encourage, empower, and inspire one another,” Leslie said. “I love this year’s theme, Preserved in Peace. As women, we spend so much time caring for others and working hard in our careers, we don’t take the time to consider our own well-being. This conference gave us the permission structure to do just that while offering tangible ways to care for ourselves holistically.”
Our teammate, Tanya Ward was an active participant representing ASHRO at the virtual kick-off on March 26. She shared her experience on a panel themed “Preserving Our Peace,” alongside remarkable women from healthcare, faith-based organizations, and beyond. Tanya reflected, “Each woman shared a piece of their personal stories, offering wisdom, and it was wonderful. The experience was food for the soul. I shared some of my poetry and made some great connections. Thanks to Kimberly Fisher and ASHRO for sharing the opportunity to join a group of extraordinary women.”

Closing the session, Minister Antoinette McKee spoke about building life intentionally and choosing to protect your peace. She emphasized setting boundaries and being mindful of peace across all areas of life, including business, marriage, and personal well-being.
A Day of Connection, Reflection, and Empowerment

Conference moments showcasing connection and community.
Beyond the inspiring sessions and engaging panels, the conference offered women the chance to connect, recharge, and leave with a renewed sense of purpose. We were thrilled to be part of the excitement, contributing select items to the goodie bags along with a special door prize. The grand prize winner, Destinee Singleton, walked away with a $250 ASHRO gift card. Attendees also gained actionable strategies for de-stressing, setting boundaries, and prioritizing self-care, providing practical tools to cultivate a life that honors their peace.
