Meet Ashro Woman of the Week, Gina from Kansas City, MO

This purpose-filled pastor loves to dress up. Why? To ‘represent her queeness’ and positivity. Yasss Queen!

Influenced greatly by the biblical value system, Gina believes in leading through genuine connections. The fruit of that belief can be seen in the way she facilitates and coaches trauma healing groups and women’s empowerment groups too. Her best advice for women? 

“Be your own She-ro first. You must take good care of yourself in order to be effective in assisting others.”

How would you describe the Ashro woman? How do you embody her?
I am an Ashro woman who lives purpose-filled and significant to multi-generational relationships. I embody her through resilience and authenticity..
How long have you been an Ashro customer?
I have been an Ashro customer over fifteen years.
What do you do for a living? What do you like most about it? What don’t you like?
I am a Pastor and I enjoy the mentoring role of leading by example establishing genuine connections. I do not enjoy the systematic disparities that keep people from excelling.ain the
How do you spend your free time?
I enjoy the beauty of nature, exploring new places and visiting historical sites.
What small thing makes you happy?
Extemporaneous gift giving make me happy
What is your best dish? Who do you make it for—and where do you typically serve it?
I enjoy beans and smoked turkey preparing it on Fridays keeping the tradition of my grandmother.
Who influenced you the most in your life. Why? And in what way?
I am influenced greatly by the biblical value system that I was raised to honor God and family. My maternal grandparents were influencers.
Do you volunteer or do charity work? Tell us about it!
I facilitate trauma healing groups. I give my time to women’s empowerment groups mentoring and coaching.
What do you love about fashion and style?
I believe what you wear and how your style your attire represents your creativity.

What occasions/events do you dress up for? (for example-do you often dress up for church, cultural events, charity events, going out, etc.) And how often do you typically get dressed up?
My desire to reflect my positive energy and I dress up often to represent my Queeness.
How has your style evolved over time?
For some time now my authentic afrocentric style affirms my positive posture of living ambitously.

I do not wear them as often as I use to.
Do you wear headwraps? How often? Where did you learn how to tie it? Share a pic of you in a headwrap with us!
I do adorn headwraps frequently. I am naturally gifted to tie and wrap.
Are you a woman of faith? How does that faith affect your life? Please tell us more.
My life mission is to be accountable to God and raise leaders who equip train and transform church into community.
Do you attend church? What church do you go to and what do you love most about it?
I am an Apostle at Ecclesia Equipping Center for three years now.
How are you passing along your faith traditions onto your children/grandchildren?
I navigate family and friends towards increasing their faith through discipleship, prayer and intercession. i

I have served in ministerial capacities for over 20 years and receive elevation in the five fold ministry.tryfrom

Be your own Shero first. You must take good care of yourself in order to be effective in assisting others.
