Ashro Woman: Gloria B.
Meet Ashro Woman of the Week, Gloria B. from Americus, GA
What makes Gloria happy? Seeing other people happy. Maybe that’s why she spends her free time serving others: in her church as a pastor (for 21 years), in her community (as a nursing-home volunteer), and in her family as a wife and mother (who makes a delicious potato salad).
We love how forthcoming (and brave) Gloria is. When we asked her about her greatest struggle and triumph, her answer was two sides to the same coin. For Gloria (like many of us), it has been a struggle “overcoming what people think” about her.
When any of us struggle through that, the thing that gets us through better than anything is Gloria’s greatest triumph: “Accepting who God created me to be!” Accepting ourselves—inside and out—is a beautiful thing.
