Ashro Woman: Jackie M.
Meet Woman of the Week, Jackie M., from Decatur, GA!
Jackie is a woman of heart, focus and dedication. Her priorities? Family, fitness and faith. She makes the choice to put these things first—day after day. Before her family goes out the door each morning, they pray together. “The family that prays together stays together.” They also attend church together and work out together. As a certified lifestyle and weight management specialist, Jackie loves to help others develop good habits and get control and victory over their health and wellness. Making this investment into ourselves allows us to help others. This is so important to Jackie who believes deeply in giving back through her nonprofit and through her church. What a beautiful woman—inside and out!
How would you describe the Ashro woman? How do you embody her?
The Ashton woman is a woman of style and grace. And I embody those characteristics wholeheartedly.
What do you do for a living? What do you like most about it? What don’t you like?
I am a full time manager, administrator and Certified Lifestyle and Weight Management Specialist. I love the fact that I get to help so many people in this role.
How do you spend your free time?
I spend my free time working out with my family.

Watching my children embrace our family fitness motto. I’ve modeled a behavior along with my husband and they have bought into it and thoroughly enjoys getting fit and healthy with us.

I work in my non-profit organization, spreading the message of the importance of making health Wellness and Physical and Fitness a Priority in our everyday lives.
Are you in a sorority? Or is anyone in your family in a sorority? If so, which one and what does it mean to you?
I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Incorporated. It means the world to me because I am a part of a sisterhood that believes and giving back in service to all humankind.
What do you love about fashion and style?
I love simple elegance when it comes to fashion style. Fashion can say a lot about a person. Your style is your statement.
What occasions/events do you dress up for? (for example-do you often dress up for church, cultural events, charity events, going out, etc.) And how often do you typically get dressed up?
I dress up for church, work, sorority meetings and various social events.
How has your style evolved over time?
My style had evolved from simple elegance to trying new pieces that help me step out of my comfort zone by adding bolder colors that I would normally have not worn in the past.
Do you wear hats? How often and what type of hat? Do you wear them to church? If so, be sure to share a pic of you in a hat with us!
I love hats and caps on a regular basis. Hats are a part of my signature style!
Are you a woman of faith? How does that faith affect your life? Please tell us more.
I am definitely a woman of faith. My family and I put our faith first and everything that we do.
Do you attend church? What church do you go to and what do you love most about it?
New Life church in Decatur, Georgia. I love how our Pastor and the church gives back and helps the community as a whole not just of the congregation
How are you passing along your faith traditions onto your children/grandchildren?
Growing up in both my household as well as my husband our family has always been in church and pray together. One of the lessons and the message that we are telling our children and that we do now is a family that prays together stays together. We pray together every morning before leaving our home. |
Thanks for inspiring us, Jackie!

Hello Mrs. Jackie Madison, I am impressed that you and your family stay in shape . I miss being all the way in shape before I got Married. At some point I lost myself and is now on my way back to the wholeness that I remembered in time pass. I use to go to New Life Missionary Baptist Church, where Pastor Marlon Harris is Pastor. You are under a great Ministry. I suppose if I should ask a question of you, it would be: How much time per-week must one spend nurturing good wholeness habits per-week.
Thanks for your attention,
keep up the good work,
God Bless you and have an awesome day
Jackie Madison
Greetings Ms. Lillie thank you for reading the blog post and reaching out. I am soo happy to here that you have decided to embrace making the necessary changes to get back in shape. I personally recommend 5 days per week of good healthy eating as a regular regimen/routine. Utilize the weekend for your sweet treats/rewards on the weekend. Everything of course should be done in moderation. In terms of physical activity it is recommended at least a minimum of three times per week if you’re not someone that works out on a regular basis ( five days per week).
