Ashro Woman: Susan T.

Meet Ashro Woman of the Week, Susan T. from Toledo, OH

This beautiful people-person is a Walmart greeter, a natural hair model and a true overcomer. Even though she suffered abuse as a child, she triumphed as a mother: giving the love and care she didn’t always get—and forgiving those who hurt her.

Once addicted to drugs, she beat the odds and has been living clean and sober for 23 years now. “God saved my life and brought me and my family through many, many near-death, tragedy-and-loss storms.”

Susan is a living inspiration of what is possible…and a great example of how to enjoy the good things in life. She finds joy in fashion, favoring one-of-a-kind, show-stopping pieces—especially those that have that 1970’s vibe. “I’m stuck in the 70’s.” And she makes a delicious macaroni salad.

When we asked what small things make her happy, her list was so good: “Finding lost things, eating lobster and crab legs, a beautiful day, good conversations.” We love that.
