Ashro Woman: Mignon J.

blog post banner

Meet Ashro Woman: Mignon from Hampton, GA

“Life is precious…take nothing for granted.”

A woman of deep purpose and faith, Mignon is embracing retirement not as a slowing down—but as a stepping into her calling. As a pastor and writer, she’s using this season of life to pour into her community—and her creative gifts too. Her latest endeavor? Launching her original Christmas play, The Reason Being Presented, a heartfelt reflection of her faith and storytelling.

Being attuned to the needs of the single parents, children, and elderly around her is also central to Mignon’s heart. As a first lady and co-pastor of the small, Word-based church she founded with her husband, she has a bit of advice for us all: “See the hand of God in everything.” Thank you, Mignon, for walking by faith and inspiring us all.

My greatest struggle has been overcoming perfectionism. My greatest triumph launching my stage play, recording a gospel song, writing and publishing my first book of poetry and fiction novel.
Who influenced you the most in your life. Why? And in what way?
Oprah Winfrey. Because she looked like me. She was that black female role model I needed. I thought she could accomplish anything. I knew I could too.
Do you volunteer or do charity work? Tell us about it!
I am a go to person in my community. I pay attention to the needs of single parents, kids and the elderly.
Are you in a sorority? Or is anyone in your family in a sorority? If so, which one and what does it mean to you?
