Onward & Upward: S2:E3 with LaNesha DeBardelaben

One Such Outstanding Woman is LaNesha DeBardelaben, NAAM President & CEO. Thanks so much to LaNesha for joining us for Season Two of Onward & Upward with Leslie E. Royal, brought to you by Ashro.

Watch S2:E3 Discovering the Essence of African American History now:

What Does Onward & Upward Mean to You?

Smiling woman with long black hair, wearing a yellow jacket and a silver necklace, against a warm orange background.

“Onward and upward is what our people have been doing. Since the very beginning we have been onward and we have been upward. That is what Sankofa is all about. That is the path to, getting to better. We have to have an onward and upward mindset. It’s a mentality. It’s a way of thinking and a way of living. It is a commitment to positive energy and a belief that we will rise, again still we rise. It is an affirmation of self-determination. Onward and upward is an agreement with the idea that though we fall down, we get up.

– And so onward and upward is truly acting in affirmation that we can all remind ourselves every morning, onward and upward, onward and upward.”
